Hi! I’m Dolittlesaymuch. I’m a writer and machinima director who works across two different platforms--Sims 2 and iClone. My profile pic is an iClone G5 character skinned with a photo of my face. Yes, it looks like me (on a good day, anyway.)
I think machinima is awesome.
There are many reasons. Above all, machinima puts visual tools into the hands of everyday storytellers. No fancy equipment needed, no big budget or production team. Done well, it’s one of the most comprehensive “writing” exercises a person can tackle. It teaches pacing, structure, character development, and many other concepts integral to the art of effective storytelling.
I’ve been on the professional writing scene since the early nineties, when my work appeared in various trade publications. More recently, a short story I wrote was accepted and published by the venerated online literary magazine “Amarillo Bay.” Read it here. I also released a novelette to accompany my machinima “Hurricane,” and it's available for free download off my blog: here. (The "Before Our Time" link is in the right sidebar.) I’ve completed two novels and have a third in progress. However, I’ve made only a halfhearted effort to seek publication for those novels, because deep down I know they aren’t “ready.” Far more goes into the process of authoring a successful novel than most people realize.
With almost twenty years of critique experience under my belt, I’m a member of the oldest online writing community on the Web (IWW) and have been involved with the pre-publishing critique process of several novels, including The Messenger, Exposure, The Story Makers, and Secret Confessions of the Applewood PTA. Currently, I’ve partnered with Odara (PlaythenWork) here at DU’s Critic Corner, hoping to apply my years of experience critiquing written work to an extremely worthwhile new medium—Sims 2 machinima.

It is a series so you SHOULD watch it from episode 1 but if time is short, comment on episode 12! I love your english and the way your write your reviews, I borrowed your outline with "visuals. editing" I find it helpful. All the best lea
Hey, Lemon! I caught the funny you made about the "saymuch" part of my screen name. Yep. You're exactly right. The "Dolittle" part, however, might be best explained by the injured groundhog in my kitchen. Yeah. See, I have this issue about bringing needy animals home with me. . . .
WOW, that was one long review!!
You certainly did say much :) hehehe
The only thing I would say is it's a fun series, pretty unplanned, so that's why there's some holes in it, lol.
But it's all useful stuff! I thank you for all that time you must have spent writing that comment :D
